SCIA Internship Program

Internship description:

The Sacramento Cannabis Industry Association (SCIA) Internship Program is a leadership program that provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable professional experience while being at the forefront of a burgeoning cannabis industry.  The SCIA is committed to fostering leaders in the industry and in our communities and preparing them for future cannabis related roles and professional positions.

The internship is developed for providing mentorship and hands-on experience to foster the skills and knowledge necessary for successfully navigating the ever-changing regulatory and legal environment of cannabis with a focus on government relations, public policy, community outreach, social justice, and research and writing.

We at the Sacramento Cannabis Industry Association are on the cutting edge of the ongoing debates, unsettled principles of law, nascent legislation, and evolving regulations that are continuously being re-written and revised locally, statewide, and nationally.  We stand at the forefront of community outreach; collaborating with neighborhood associations, city council members, police and fire departments, entrepreneurs, and business owners to set a precedent for both the state and the nation as to how a responsible, healthy, and thriving cannabis industry can and should work. While interns’ tasks and responsibilities may vary upon the needs of the organization and the projects at hand, interns will be exposed to all aspects of the cannabis industry and will be given the tools to be effective professionals and leaders in the space.

  • Must be currently enrolled, or already have completed, a graduate degree level program. Preferably a JD, MPP, or similarly situated degree program.
  • Must be eager and passionate to learn more about the cannabis industry.
